VINTAGE SPENCER BRIGHT LINE HAEMACYTOMETER NEUBAUER/10 mm CASED Case, 7 inches x 3-3/4 inches x 1inch, red leatherette with brass fasteners in art deco style lined with red velvet containing the haemacytometer and two pipettes Made c. 1940 by Spencer, Buffalo USA Used to count different microparticles or microorganisms, a hemocytometer is a specialist slide, much more expensive than an average glass slide. It can be used to count the number of red blood cells and white blood cells in a sample. Patented in US: March 19, 1935. The patent was issued to Harry G. Ott (1894-1950), an optical engineer employed by the Bausch & Lomb Optical Co. CONDITION: Good Marks : # 88840 inscribed on glass. Case marked “A S Aloe Co. St Louis-Los Angeles”.
